Hours: Full-time Monday–Friday, 38 hours per week
Reports to: Program Manager
Classification: SCHADS Award Level 5.1 - Minimum of 4 years' experience required for this level.
Leave: 4 weeks annual leave + additional organisational leave days
Contract Period: 4 Years
About SARA
The SARA Domestic Violence Program provides specialist support to women from migrant, refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who are impacted by domestic and family violence. Our service works alongside community partners and justice agencies to:
* Strengthen safety for women
* Support recovery and
* Give hope for those affected.
Our work is guided by a commitment to advocacy, inclusion, accountability and collaborative practice. We prioritise safety, amplify the voices of victim-survivors, and deliver supports through reflective and evidence-informed practice.
Role Purpose
The experienced DFV Case Manager will deliver specialist, trauma-informed support to CALD women experiencing domestic and family violence across a range of program areas, including:
Individual case work and crisis responses
Risk assessment and safety planning
Court and system advocacy
Group programs and psycho-educational support
This role undertakes comprehensive DFV risk assessments and provides tailored, strengths-based responses including safety planning, case coordination, emotional support, referrals and advocacy. Support may be provided face-to-face, by phone, online or in group settings.
Key Responsibilities
Support & Advocacy
Provide complex case advice and support to the SARA team, and allocates new referrals to the team, including PAR.
Provide timely, respectful and client-led responses that prioritise safety and empowerment
Complete risk and safety assessments and develop ongoing safety plans for women and their children
Deliver crisis intervention for victims of DFV and coordinated case management
Advocate with external agencies to support positive outcomes and system navigation
Maintain accurate, clear and ethical case documentation and data records
Apply sound knowledge of DFV legislation and related statutory frameworks
Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies to enhance service coordination.

About You

Minimum four years' experience working directly with women experiencing complex DFV, including risk assessment, crisis response and case management.
Strong understanding of DFV dynamics and impacts on women, children and families.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to engage respectfully in challenging circumstances.
High-quality written skills, including case notes, client correspondence and stakeholder communication.
Excellent time-management and organisational ability, with capacity to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act and Child Protection legislation.
