ROLE OVERVIEW
The Executive Officer – Central Australia supports the Chamber of Commerce NT in fulfilling its mission in Central Australia by delivering high-quality services aligned with the Chamber's strategic objectives, working in close partnership with the Chief Executive Officer.
This role reflects the values and brand of the Chamber in all interactions, fostering a high-performing, values-driven team culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Membership Growth and Retention: Actively promote Chamber membership through identifying prospective members, recruiting them, and retaining existing members via ongoing engagement and value delivery.
* Office Leadership and Operations: Manage the operations of the Central Australian office, including financial oversight, people management, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
* Regional Executive Committee Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with Chairs of the Central Australian and Barkly Executive Committees.
* Secretariat and Governance Support: Provide secretariat support to Regional Executive Committees, ensuring meetings are conducted according to the Chamber's constitution, agendas, minutes, and reports are prepared and distributed accurately and on time.
* Member Engagement, Support and Services: Serve as a key point of contact for members, connecting them with relevant Chamber services and support, maintaining consistent member contact, support, and connection to services.
* Event Management: Lead event delivery in Central Australia, including networking functions, forums, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. Collaborate with internal event staff, sponsors, and external suppliers to ensure smooth execution and strong engagement outcomes, aligning events with the Chamber's strategic objectives.
* Strategic and Advocacy Functions:
o Provide strategic insights for policy development and advocacy priorities.
o Represent Chamber members in senior stakeholder interactions across Central Australia and on committees.
o Attend public events, forums, and functions representing the Chamber.
o Maintain a strategic awareness of business community views and reflect these accurately in advocacy efforts.
o Identify opportunities to expand and enhance member services.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Strong governance skills and secretariat experience supporting Regional Executive Committees and advisory bodies.
* Maintain Member First principle in activities and communications.
* Experience and passion for networking, marketing, or business development.
* Proven management expertise, particularly in financial management and people management.
* A working understanding of the unique needs and opportunities of member businesses in Central Australia.
* First-class communication skills, able to represent the Chamber in public forums and media when required.
* Possess a current Driver's Licence.
