We're looking for a Technical Writer to help translate complex data into clear, structured, and actionable insights.
The Role
We're looking for a Technical Writer to work closely with our founders and data team to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, accurate, and well-structured written documentation.
You'll be responsible for producing the written content layer of Octopusbot's subscription product: the technical reports, platform commentary, and market documentation that clients access through Octopusbot's platform, website, and direct delivery.
This role sits at the intersection of data and communication. If you can make complex information clear and usable, you'll thrive here.
What you'll do
* Research and compile information from proprietary AI model outputs, data dashboards, satellite indicators, and external benchmark sources to support the preparation of monthly technical reports
* Write and publish market content including website blogs and platform commentary, translating complex technical information into clear written material for grain market participants including traders, brokers, and agribusiness professionals
* Produce regular structured written commentary for Octopusbot's platform covering key market movements, production changes, and relevant drivers across global commodity markets
* Develop structured technical documentation and written market reports to meet specific client requirements, delivered via Octopusbot's platform and direct distribution
* Prepare written technical reports on model performance and forecast accuracy for publication on the company website
* Review, edit, and maintain documentation to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and clarity across all delivery channels
* Format, adapt, and repurpose content for different delivery channels including client communications, platform dashboards, website publications, and social media
* Submit drafts for internal review, incorporate feedback from founders, and finalise documentation for publication or delivery
What we're looking for
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
* At least 1 year of relevant experience in technical writing, research, or market commentary
* Demonstrated ability to produce structured technical documentation from complex, quantitative source material
* Strong written communication with high standards of accuracy, clarity, and structure
* Ability to adapt written content for grain market audiences including traders, brokers, and agribusiness professionals
* Analytical capability sufficient to research, interpret, and represent data-driven outputs accurately in writing
* Ability to produce and adapt written material across multiple formats and delivery channels
* Work directly with founders
* Real ownership of Octopusbot's written product from day one
* Exposure to global grain markets, AI forecasting, and commodity data
* Fast learning curve in a growing AgTech company
