Overview
Join to apply for the Peer Rehabilitation and Recovery Worker role at Wellways Australia.
About This Program
The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) and Enhanced Adult Community Living Supports (CLS) are NSW government-funded programs that provide specialist psychosocial support for individuals aged 16 and older with serious mental illness. These programs, delivered by Wellways, focus on empowering participants to live independently within their communities.
The programs offer flexible, person-centred support that helps individuals develop skills for daily living, access healthcare, maintain housing, and participate in social and community activities. Support includes assistance with self-care, budgeting, cooking, medication management, education, employment, and building relationships. HASI and CLS work closely with Local Health Districts and other community services to provide coordinated care, helping participants live fulfilling, independent lives.
About The Opportunity
The Peer Rehabilitation and Recovery Worker role in the HASI and CLS programs offers a unique chance to use your lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery to support individuals facing similar challenges. You will help participants develop life skills, regain independence, and integrate into their communities by acting as a role model of hope and recovery.
You will provide practical support in areas like self-care, budgeting, and accessing health services, while also assisting participants with housing and building social connections. You’ll work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic support.
