Key Planning Role in State Government Team
A detail-oriented professional with a keen interest in planning, transport, or engineering is required for this 6-month contract.
The Planning Assessment Officer position involves interpreting and applying planning legislation and standards, providing specialist technical advice, and guiding on transport planning issues.
Main Responsibilities:
* Process applications and referrals while liaising with local governments and industry bodies.
* Assess and review planning referrals for development and subdivision applications, structure plans, planning schemes, amendment proposals, and responses to general planning inquiries.
Required Attributes:
* Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Diploma (or progress toward) in Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline.
* Previous experience working in the public sector.
