Infrastructure Manager, Security Operations

. We are seeking an experienced and technically hands-on Security Infrastructure Manager to lead our Security Infrastructure & Engineering team. This hybrid leadership and engineering role involves team management, driving strategic security initiatives, and contributing to complex technical solutions.
As a key part of our security operations capability, this role manages a growing team of Associate, Security, and Senior Engineers, as well as Specialist Engineers focused on Elastic and Microsoft Sentinel. The successful candidate will ensure that our infrastructure spanning AWS, Azure, and multi-tenant client environments is secure, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices. In addition to providing strong technical and team leadership, the role plays a central part in the development and evolution of new security service offerings, working closely with other Security Operations managers. You\'ll also be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the onboarding of new clients, ensuring consistent, secure, and high-quality service delivery from day one.
You\'ll work closely with our SOC, platform teams, and service delivery managers to deliver reliable, integrated security outcomes for our clients while maintaining a strong focus on innovation, process improvement, and platform maturity.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a multi-level Security Engineering team, including Associate, Security, Senior Engineers, and Specialist Engineers (Elastic, Sentinel).
Provide strong technical direction and hands-on involvement in the design, build, and maintenance of secure infrastructure and client environments.
Drive continuous improvement in tooling, process, documentation, and service delivery across the team.
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and skills assessments to guide professional development.
Define and track team KPIs and OKRs aligned with strategic goals, delivery timelines, and service quality expectations.
Workload planning, prioritisation, and task allocation across BAU, project, and incident response requirements.
Identify training needs and support the onboarding and growth of team members.
Collaborate with internal teams (SOC, Architecture, Projects, Client Delivery) to ensure efficient service execution and cross-functional alignment.
Work closely with other Security Operations managers to design and develop new security service offerings as part of our managed security portfolio.
Support and coordinate the onboarding of new clients into our infrastructure and services, ensuring a smooth and secure transition.
Infrastructure & Cloud Security
Manage and secure infrastructure supporting our SOC, including AWS EC2, load balancing, and container clusters.
Oversee Azure Lighthouse tenant management and support Microsoft Sentinel integrations across client environments.
Contribute to architectural decisions that support scalable, resilient, and secure multi-tenant service delivery.
Security Policy Management
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of security policies and configurations, including:
Microsoft Defender, Entra, Office 365, and Endpoint
Firewalls: Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5 BIG-IP, FortiSASE, Akamai WAF
Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration
Create and maintain SOPs, hardening standards, and policy health checks to align with industry best practices.
Contribute to the definition and automation of security baselines, ensuring adherence across diverse client environments.
Security Platform Operations
Oversee and enhance managed SIEM offerings including Elastic Security and Microsoft Sentinel.
Support and secure client deployments using combinations of:
Elastic Security (EDR/XDR/MDR)
Microsoft Defender suite
SentinelOne
Maintain and continuously improve hosted multi-tenant Elastic environments for threat detection and incident response.
Incident Response Participation
Provide infrastructure and tooling expertise during major security incidents.
Actively support incident triage and remediation in collaboration with the SOC team, ensuring root cause analysis and long-term controls are implemented.
Platform & Tooling Management
Oversee supporting platforms and integrations, including:
Linux-based systems, with a focus on SaltStack automation and OpenVPN
Atlassian Suite - Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, OpsGenie
LogicMonitor - Infrastructure monitoring
ServiceNow - Workflow and service integration
Ensure robust documentation practices, including the creation and maintenance of:
Design documents
SOPs and runbooks
Client-facing implementation and configuration documentation

Key Requirements
Technical Expertise
Strong background in network security, cloud infrastructure, and security policy enforcement.
Practical experience with AWS and Azure, including Azure Lighthouse for tenant management.
Hands-on knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and secure networking across Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, and Check Point.
Experience developing and implementing system hardening standards, security baselines, and best-practice configurations.
Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Elastic Security, Microsoft Sentinel) and EDR/XDR tools (Defender, SentinelOne).
Solid experience with Linux, automation tools (SaltStack), and infrastructure monitoring platforms.
Leadership & Communication
Proven leadership skills in managing technical teams and cross-functional projects.
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for engineers and stakeholders.
Strong documentation skills and a passion for improving documentation culture across the team.
Desirable Qualifications
Certifications such as: AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, CISSP, CCNP Security or similar.
Experience working within MSSP, SOC, or multi-tenant environments.
Exposure to Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD workflows using tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and pipelines
