About the role
This is a senior standalone accounting role, reporting directly to the CEO. While the role offers significant autonomy and strategic exposure, it is also a hands-on "doer" role, suited to someone who enjoys ownership, accountability and variety.
The location is flexible and requires regular in-office presence to work closely with the CEO and operational teams. For the right applicant — particularly someone bringing strong capability and long-term commitment — there is potential to establish or shape a dedicated local office environment over time.
You will be responsible for:
* End-to-end financial management across multiple entities.
* Tax and statutory compliance including BAS, PAYG, payroll tax and superannuation.
* Liaison with external accountants, tax advisors and auditors.
* Monthly management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
* Cash flow forecasting and active cash management.
* Financial analysis and insights to support business performance.
* Development and enhancement of financial systems, processes and internal controls.
* Oversight of outsourced and offshore payroll, accounts payable and billing teams.
* Leadership of the NDIS Plan Management function.
* Management of outsourced IT providers and contribution to cyber and systems risk management.
* Support for growth initiatives including acquisitions, due diligence, business cases and financing.
About you
You are a commercially minded accountant who enjoys responsibility and influence.
You're confident working independently, enjoy being embedded in the business, and value face-to-face collaboration with operational teams.
You don't need to have done everything before — but you are capable of researching new areas, developing understanding quickly and delivering outcomes to a high standard.
You'll bring:
* Degree qualification in Accounting or Finance.
* CPA or CA qualification (or near completion).
* Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong systems literacy and interest in technology.
* Ability to work autonomously with accountability.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
Highly regarded:
* Experience in multi-entity or growing organisations.
* Exposure to NDIS, healthcare or human services (or strong capacity to learn quickly).
* Experience working with outsourced or offshore teams.
* Interest in automation, AI and process improvement.
* Experience supporting business cases, due diligence or commercial projects.
Working arrangements & location
This role is intended to be primarily office-based, with flexibility available once strong working relationships and systems knowledge are established.
