Our Opportunity
Mirvac is seeking a Legal Counsel – Construction to support our Construction business providing strategic, practical and commercially focused legal advice. Working closely with the General Counsel – Construction, this role plays a key part in managing legal risk across complex projects and contributing to successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice across all aspects of Mirvac's construction operations
* Draft, review and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts and consultancy agreements
* Advise on project delivery issues, claims, disputes and contractual risk allocation
* Support compliance with Security of Payment, WHS, industrial relations and building regulation obligations
* Assist with competitive bids and commercial arrangements
* Resolve minor disputes and elevate complex matters appropriately
* Contribute to the development of legal precedents, playbooks and training
* Support risk management, governance and continuous improvement initiatives
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisers
About You
* Post‐qualification experience, ideally with exposure to construction or major projects
* Strong technical grounding in construction and commercial law
* Confident communicator able to translate complex legal issues into practical advice
* Commercially minded, proactive and solutions focused
* Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating in a high‐performing team
* Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment and a strong client‐service mindset
