As an Assistant Project Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the NSW Government department's mission to deliver exceptional services to the community. Key responsibilities include undertaking research on natural resources, regulation, and compliance issues, developing software applications to support automation of departmental activities, designing statistical outputs for public dissemination, providing data analysis to support Investigation and Enforcement branch performance, delivering regular reports and briefs on key indicators, and providing timely business statistics to internal clients.
This position requires strong research and software engineering skills, as well as effective communication and collaboration with departmental officers and other government agencies. You will be responsible for utilizing effective research and software engineering skills to verify data and research sources to confirm their fitness for purpose, and develop and maintain sound working relationships and partnerships with Departmental officers and other state government agencies with respect to statistical information. This role also involves contributing to the development of program and project management methodologies, guidelines, and processes.
This is a contract position with a competitive hourly rate and the potential for extension. The role is based in Parramatta, with some flexibility to work from home.
