What you will do
Through our internship program, you will gain first-hand experience with an industry leader in the refining and petrochemical industry. Your work, and that of the teams, contributes to the growth and future of our business, as we provide energy, products, and solutions for society. In addition, it will be an excellent platform for you to explore your career aspirations while delivering tangible benefits throughout our business from invaluable on-the-job experience. Beyond that, you will not be alone as you will have a supervisor and engineer assigned to you who can help you navigate the organization, advise on your development, and help you learn what it takes to achieve your goals.
As part of the assessed internship, you will have a formal final review on project delivery and performance by your supervisor. You will also be asked to prepare a final presentation or report out about your project. You can look forward to the following in your time with us:
* Understand the company’s Safety Health and Environment systems & procedures and protocols and demonstrate a positive mindset with full compliance to the safety protocols.
* Understand company’s Standards of Business Controls and demonstrate effective compliance to business controls.
* Understand the application of rotating equipment including its reliability and equipment performance.
* Understand applicable critical hold points during machinery repairs and do QC checks at the site/vendor’s shop
* Be a member of the team responsible for progressing/completing tactical plans such as:
o Equipment strategy for single-operating pumps (no standby)
o Deep dive into bad actors’ resolution
* Develop consolidated dashboard on monitoring pump MTBFs.
* Prepare MTBF vs TCPI report for Chemical units.
* Engage with unit’s machinery team and support on routine day-to-day engineering work under guidance of the machinery lead.
* Prepare a case study on the experience gained while providing solutions to any machinery failures/troubleshooting.

About you
Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for our Internship Program, you should be:
* Preferably in your 3rd year of study.
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, preferably potential Second Upper Honors and above, and/or with leadership experience in non-academic areas such as Co-curriculum activities or National Service.
* Willing to work at one of our assigned manufacturing locations in Jurong Island or Pioneer Road.
