About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Superintendent to oversee Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) construction and commissioning works on a major greenfields project. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of works in compliance with ICE Engineering standards and client expectations.
You will provide strong in-field leadership to coordinate daily operations, support project planning, and ensure alignment with schedule, budget, and quality targets. This will be on a 2/2 roster, flying from Adelaide to site.
The Project Superintendent is responsible for ensuring all ICE projects are completed safely, adhering to State/Federal OHS/WHS legislation, customer, and ICE safety policies. This role oversees onsite project performance, meets budget and timeline goals, and supports delivery teams in achieving customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
· In-field Leadership - Lead and direct site-based activities, ensuring a disciplined and proactive culture of safety, productivity, and accountability across the work front.
· E&I Technical Oversight - Own the E&I scope of works: interpret drawings, lead QA/QC processes, monitor MTOs, support commissioning, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
· Planning & Coordination - Drive short-term planning and execution: contribute to and review lookahead programs, resource allocation, and interface coordination.
· Reporting & Communication - Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports on progress, performance, risks, and key milestones to internal and client stakeholders.
· Compliance & Safety - Ensure all work complies with WHS legislation, client site standards (including BHP/Olympic Dam), and ICE safety management systems.
· Team Leadership & Development - Mentor site supervisors, lead toolbox meetings, and build a high-performing delivery team with clear expectations and accountability
· Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
· Experience managing Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Procurement Registers
Ideal Candidate
· Experience in supervision of office and site personnel.
· Experience in supervising construction projects, ideally within an electrical environment.
· Leadership experience with teams exceeding 20 members.
· Identifying improvement opportunities and suggesting constructive changes.
· Consistently seeks ways to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.
· Skilled in managing and selecting subcontractors to meet project requirements.
· Experience in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
· Familiarity with lump sum and rate-based projects.
· Experience with Work in Progress assessments for financial reporting purposes
