ACAP University College is seeking a dynamic, hands-on academic leader to serve as its next Dean. This is a pivotal appointment, following a period of significant growth and program innovation.

The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Dean is ACAP’s senior academic leader, responsible for expert leadership across all academic affairs and operations. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Dean oversees faculty and academic staff, learning and teaching operations, academic quality, and compliance with Australian tertiary education standards.
This is a hands-on role requiring active engagement with academic services, curriculum development, and the implementation of strategic and operational plans. The Dean will lead across disciplines, foster collaboration and ensure best practice education and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and foster excellence in learning and teaching across ACAP’s disciplines.
- Oversee academic quality, compliance, and the maintenance of ACAP’s self-accrediting status.
- Drive curriculum development and academic renewal, ensuring alignment with the ACAP Strategic Plan.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning and provide expert advice on Australian tertiary academic affairs.
- Champion a collaborative, team-oriented culture and succession planning.
About You:
The preferred candidate will hold a doctorate or equivalent and bring significant leadership experience in higher education, with expert knowledge of Australian tertiary standards and regulation.
The appointee will have a proven ability to lead change, challenge traditional academic norms, and drive innovation in a fast-paced environment. The track record includes managing academic teams, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of enhancement. With a leadership style that is both inclusive and strategic, the ideal candidate excels at building trust through superior interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrates the ability to negotiate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
