The Team
Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Emergency Department is the major emergency service for Northern Tasmania, providing 24/7 care for a wide range of presentations from minor illness and injury through to critical emergencies and trauma. As part of Hospitals North, the team works closely with Ambulance Tasmania, inpatient units and community services to deliver safe, timely and patient‐centred care. The department values teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement to meet the needs of the Tasmanian community.
The Role
As an endorsed Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced autonomous clinical care within the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients within an approved scope of practice.
You will also provide leadership through education, mentorship, service development and quality improvement, while working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and flow.

Requirements
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, with ongoing compliance maintained.
* Extensive contemporary Emergency Department experience with advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning and autonomous clinical decision‐making skills.
* Proven leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive quality improvement, education and positive patient outcomes.
Details of appointment
Permanent, full‐time, day‐worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight (hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant). Commencing as soon as possible.
Salary and benefits
Salary: $148,470 per annum, with 12% superannuation contribution on top. Salary range in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Additional allowances may include:
* Post‐Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
* Salary packaging with benefits including living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year and other eligible benefits.
