Job Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry manages divisional governance, business planning, project management, operational change, data and analytics, recruitment, and financials.
This includes regulatory capability and reform through decision support and initiatives. The department develops and implements policy for traveller biosecurity and human health.
Regulatory assessment and inspections are delivered to verify compliance with Australia's biosecurity and imported food requirements.
We are seeking leaders to oversee teams in various areas, including traveller operations, cargo assessments, cargo inspections, and infringement notice management.
The Role
As a leader, you will provide strategic direction to achieve regulatory outcomes aligned with the department's business plan.
You will influence change, contribute to business planning and decision-making processes, and demonstrate innovative leadership while guiding managers and teams.

* Respond to issues outside normal working hours as needed.

In the Infringement Notice Unit, you will focus on enhancing the department's regulatory practice principles.
