Job Purpose and Impact
The Construction Safety Supervisor (CSS) will lead the implementation, execution and maintenance of construction environmental, health and safety management systems at low to medium complex facilities, with three concurrent projects spanning three locations.
Educate site management and personnel and engage sufficient resources to achieve goals.
Support continuous improvement as we continue to evolve to a higher level of EHS maturity.
Conduct EHS activities to directly ensure EHS excellence and act as a lead or technical expert to resolve site-specific EHS challenges.
Identify critical EHS gaps at sites and develop mitigation activities for resolution.
Continuously upskill and ensure you are equipped with relevant EHS capabilities.
Engage business leads and work closely with site managers to ensure proper EHS coverage is provided for operations and business activities.
Monitor contractor and Cargill activity to ensure compliance with Cargill policies and procedures, applicable regulatory requirements and ensure high hazard work permit processes are being followed (SWPP, Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.) and use of PJHAs for all construction tasks Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
5+ year experience in health and safety or environment health and safety within construction and additional experience with developing, deploying and implementing environment or health & safety policies and standards
Demonstrated acumen and the ability to build trust with leaders and establish credibility within the organization to drive change
Strong change management skills and demonstrated experience implementing change
Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
Ability to work in a high energy, environment where resiliency and timely turnaround of quality work is essential
Strong contractor management, coaching, mentoring, influencing skills and managing 3rd party resources to deliver business results
Proven creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong organization and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize workload
Self-starter with ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment
