The role
Position Overview
STEP123 is seeking casual trainers and assessors to join our team to deliver and assess the following nationally recognised training programs:
Key Programs
- Civil Construction short courses and skill sets
- Traffic Management
- First Aid & CPR
- White Card (Construction Induction Training)
Essential Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
- or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
- or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education
- or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) with the following units:
- either TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A
- and either TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B
- Current industry skills and experience directly relevant to civil construction, traffic management, first aid, CPR, and/or White Card training
- Demonstrable vocational competency at least the level being delivered and/or assessed – either by holding the unit/qualification or demonstrating equivalence of competency
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- At least 2 years' experience training and assessing in an RTO environment (experience with international or diverse learners highly regarded)
- Ability to adapt to different student needs and a passion for supporting learner success
- A collaborative attitude, willingness to share knowledge, and openness to continuous learning
- Strong understanding of AQF and RTO Standards 2015 and compliance obligations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Experience using Student Management Systems (Axcelerate preferred, but not essential)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

The Role
- Deliver and assess training in civil construction, traffic management, first aid, CPR, and White Card programs
- Prepare and deliver engaging training sessions (including online student support where applicable)
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and provide intervention and support when required
- Conduct weekday, evening, and/or weekend sessions as required
- Contribute to training resource development, assessment strategies, and continuous improvement
- Participate in moderation and validation activities
- Build and maintain robust industry links and partnerships
- Perform other duties as directed by management

Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: $31.29 - $70.21 per hour
