Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (General Physician)

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (General Physician) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
About the role
Provide physician leadership in early acute management decisions and appropriate disposition of medical patients within Emergency Departments (Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital), Medical Decisions Unit and in general medical wards. Provide high quality clinical care to patients across the continuum of care. Provide oversight and coordinate the multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate and efficient patient care. Provide professional leadership within General Medicine and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.
Requirements for the role
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
* Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
* MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRACP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and registrable as a General Medicine specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours on-call roster including weekend shifts.
Salary information
* Permanent full time
* Estimated total remuneration up to $447,016 p.a., comprising:
o Senior Staff Specialist : Base salary from $251,527 - $266,677 p.a
o Staff Specialist : Base salary from $210,332 - $244,313 p.a
* Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
