The Role
We're looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations and work closely with the owner-chef. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who loves service, people, and building a strong team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day FOH operations and service
Manage and motivate a small, quality-focused team
Rostering, payroll coordination, and staff training
Maintain service standards and guest experience
Oversee reservations (NowBookIt), floor flow, and capacity
Work closely with the kitchen to deliver seamless service
Manage compliance (RSA, WHS, licensing)
Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost awareness
Be a welcoming face of River for locals and visitors alike
About You
Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or strong Assistant Manager
Excellent people leadership and communication skills
Strong service knowledge (wine, cocktails, food-led venues)
Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
Passion for local produce, hospitality, and community
RSA essential (NSW)
Experience with Square / NowBookIt a bonus
