**Who we are**
The Enterprise Strategy and Governance Division works across the department to deliver services such as media and communications, engagement, governance, planning, reporting and risk management. The division provides direct support to the Minister's office via the Parliamentary and Ministerial Services Team and manages Parliamentary and Cabinet business for the department. It also advises the executive and business areas on portfolio strategy, including developing and embedding the department's strategic purpose, objectives, priorities, vision and values. We are leading an organisational capability uplift program and driving a more integrated approach to budget and financial planning and decision-making. The new Crisis and Emergency Management Branch creates a hub for emergency management within the department and develop a whole-of-enterprise, all hazards emergency management model.

The Crisis and Emergency Management Branch coordinates the department's all-hazards emergency management, business continuity and crisis capability functions. Our key objectives are to:

- Develop a whole-of-enterprise, all hazards emergency management framework.
- Sustain the department's ability to deliver services, time critical business functions and fulfil its responsibilities during disruptions.
- Embed a strategic approach to continually improve the department's emergency management, business continuity and crisis capabilities.

The Business Continuity and Incident Management section aims to ensure continuity of service and help the department fulfil its responsibilities when confronted with significant incidents or disruptions. When an incident or disruption occurs, we provide specialist advice and enhanced coordination capabilities to support affected business areas.

**The Job**
The duties for this position may include but are not limited to:

- Assisting the team to develop, implement and review business continuity plans and procedures.
- Providing advice and guidance to business areas on business continuity and incident management best practices.
- Facilitating and participating in business continuity and incident management exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Preparing and maintaining business continuity and incident management documentation, reports and records. Undertaking secretariat duties as required.

**_ Skills and Capabilities_**
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, deliver intended results, adapt to change and prioritise tasks where required.
- Capacity to work independently or under limited guidance and as part of a team.
- Well-developed oral and written communication.
- Ability to undertake research and analysis.

**_ Knowledge and experience_**
- Having or rapidly acquiring knowledge in incident management and business continuity practices and how these may impact work objectives.
- Experience liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes.
- Experience in a business continuity or incident management role would be beneficial.

**Eligibility**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

**Pre-employment Check** - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.

**MSIC and ASIC Licences** - If the position requires unescorted access within an aviation or maritime security zone, you will be required to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
