Your new role
As an APS6 Lawyer, you will provide high‑quality, timely legal advice across a diverse and interesting range of matters. You will support operational and corporate teams, contribute to complex assessments, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the integrity and regulatory landscape. This role suits a capable lawyer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys varied subject matter, and is confident in offering clear, practical advice.
You will be responsible for:
* Providing legal advice across administrative law (including FOI and privacy), commercial, employment, integrity, anti-doping and litigation matters.
* Preparing submissions and recommendations related to statutory decision-making frameworks.
* Interpreting legislation, policies, codes and national integrity frameworks.
* Conducting legal research and assisting in training staff on relevant legal issues.
* Drafting policies, procedures, briefs and high level correspondence.
* Managing sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
* Operating within tight timeframes and balancing unpredictable workloads.
* Building effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have:
- A law degree and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- - Administrative law (FOI, privacy)
* Commercial law
* Employment law
* Anti - doping or integrity frameworks
* Litigation
* Strong judgement and decision-making capability.
* Excellent research, drafting and document review skills.
* The ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
* A collaborative working style and stakeholder-focused approach.
* Australian Citizenship
