Join the City of Ballarat team and play a key role in managing and maintaining our urban assets.

This position is responsible for:

* Maintaining asset management systems and ensuring compliance with Tree and Road Management Plans.
* Coordinating tree and infrastructure inspections and reporting outcomes.
* Assisting with urban forest tree planting programs.
* Leading and mentoring a small team to achieve best-practice performance.
* Developing and managing work schedules and monthly maintenance programs in collaboration with Operations Supervisors.
* Coordinating day-to-day task scheduling and ensure efficient delivery of works plans.
* Overseeing after-hours response services, including rosters, materials, and follow-up work logging.

About you

We are seeking someone with:

You are an experienced leader with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. You can manage competing priorities, lead and mentor teams, and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

You communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and customers, resolving complex issues with professionalism and care.

You bring:

* Proven experience in team leadership and asset management.
* Knowledge of the Road Management Act and Tree and Road Management Plans.
* Strong planning and scheduling skills using computer systems and handheld devices.
* A current Victorian driver's licence and experience in civil infrastructure or arboriculture inspections.

Key Selection Criteria

* Qualifications and experience as listed above.
* Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values.
* Demonstrated experience in Operational Asset Management.
* Demonstrated experience with Road Management Act and Councils Tree and Road Management Plans.
* Demonstrated and sound experience in data entry and the development of works schedule utilising computer systems.
* Demonstrated experience of working in a team and autonomously to achieve best outcomes.
* Relevant experience in civil infrastructure and arboriculture asset inspections.
