Construction Manager - Civil (Telecommunications Infrastructure)
A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager - Civil to lead the delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects across Western Australia. This role will oversee large-scale civil construction works supporting communications networks on major mining and remote infrastructure projects. Operating on a FIFO 2:1 roster, you will manage civil crews, subcontractors and site supervisors while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to program.
The Role
You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction activities, including:
* Rip and plough operations using large dozers
* Trenching and rock breaking
* Conduit installation
* Pit and pipe construction
* Directional drilling
* Cable corridor development
* Site reinstatement and remediation
This role requires strong leadership and the ability to operate effectively in remote mining environments with strict safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end delivery of civil construction works for telecommunications infrastructure projects
* Drive project schedules, forecasting and onsite productivity
* Lead and supervise site supervisors, civil crews and subcontractors
* Ensure full compliance with mine site safety procedures, environmental requirements and quality standards
* Conduct site inspections, audits and safety reviews
* Coordinate with clients, engineers, project teams and stakeholders
* Resolve onsite issues and manage construction risks and variations
* Prepare project reports, progress updates and forecasting for management
About You
We are looking for someone with strong civil construction experience, ideally within telecommunications, utilities, mining infrastructure or major earthworks projects. You will bring:
* Proven experience in civil construction management or senior site supervision
* Experience delivering civil works on mine sites or large infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of earthworks, trenching, pit and pipe installation and directional drilling
* Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors
* Strong understanding of mine site safety systems and compliance requirements
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical plans
* Strong organisational and communication skills
Qualifications & Tickets
* S26 qualification - desirable
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
* Mine site inductions such as BHP, Rio Tinto or FMG - highly regarded
* Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related qualification - desirable
