Job Overview
As an auxiliary firefighter, your primary role will be to respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team.
Your duties will also include promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities, developing and maintaining competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses, and contributing to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
You will also be responsible for ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities, contributing to incident reporting and general station administration.
Key Requirements
* Eligibility for a Blue Card or current possession of one.
* Employer's consent to attend emergencies.
* Residence within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
* Australian Permanent Resident Status.
* Manual C Class driver's licence.
Responsibilities
* Respond to fires and other emergencies with a team.
* Promote fire safety and emergency preparedness in local communities.
* Participate in regular training and drills to develop skills.
* Maintain attendance standards for emergencies and training.
* Operate specialized firefighting and rescue equipment safely.
* Contribute to the upkeep and cleanliness of station facilities.
* Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities.
