Our organization is seeking an experienced Maternal and Child Health Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality, targeted Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) services.
About the Role
This role will involve delivering flexible, family-focused care to vulnerable children from birth to 6 years of age and their families. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to strengthen parenting capacity, improve family functioning, and promote the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
1. Providing additional support to families experiencing early parenting difficulties through wrap-around care models.
2. Delivering high-quality, evidence-based practice to empower families to make informed decisions about their children's health and development.
3. Health promotion through education and information on all aspects of parenting, including breastfeeding, early learning, nutrition, and immunisation.
4. Early identification and intervention to link families with other early childhood support systems.
5. Facilitating system processes related to intake, assessment, allocation, and transfer of care for families.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. Division 1 Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
2. Registered Midwife (AHPRA)
3. Graduate Diploma or Masters degree in Maternal and Child Health, Family and Child Health, or equivalent qualification.
4. Previous experience as an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
5. Current Victorian driver's licence.
6. Working with Children Check.
