Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of telecommunications and civil projects across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Job Description
The role involves hands-on field work, installing and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure in accordance with national and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:
* Installing, splicing, and testing fibre optic and copper cables in accordance with client specifications.
* Carrying out civil telecommunications tasks including pit and pipe installation, concreting, trenching, cutting, and reinstatement works.
* Performing road cutting and reinstatement activities following VicRoads standards.
* Operating heavy machinery such as excavators, vacuum trucks, and HR vehicles as required.
* Undertaking fault-finding, network testing, and system maintenance using OTDR and related test equipment.
* Installing and maintaining CCTV systems and associated network cabling.
* Maintaining compliance with WHS regulations and company safety procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful applicant will possess:
* Minimum 2-3 years' experience in telecommunications installation, maintenance, or civil construction.
* Competence operating excavation or NDD (non-destructive digging) equipment.
* HR Driver Licence (essential).
* Asbestos removal licence and Telstra network induction (desirable).
* Ability to interpret network drawings and complete as-built documentation.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
