About The Role
The Registered Nurse – Opioid Treatment Program plays a key role in delivering safe, effective, and effective nursing care that aligns with current standards of nursing practice and the policies and procedures of the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD).
In this position, you will coordinate and provide high‑quality, person‑centred care in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses. You will support individuals with Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) issues through evidence‑based interventions grounded in the principles of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery‑Oriented Practice.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to improving health outcomes for clients engaged in the Opioid Treatment Program by promoting safety, dignity, and respect in every aspect of care delivery.
About You
You are a Registered Nurse who demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to delivering safe, person‑centred care. With current registration through the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (Division 1), you bring a sound understanding of evidence‑based nursing practice and a dedication to supporting individuals engaged in opioid agonist treatment.
You have a strong grasp of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery principles, applying these approaches to promote dignity, safety and empowerment in your clients. Your practice reflects current legislation, policies and the professional standards of nursing.
You're a collaborative team member who uses effective problem‑solving skills and a multidisciplinary approach to coordinate high‑quality care. Your communication skills—written, verbal and interpersonal—allow you to engage effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring key information and concerns are clearly understood.
You're confident using information technology in clinical settings and are committed to continuous improvement and quality outcomes. With a current unrestricted NSW driver's licence and a willingness to travel, you're also flexible and available to participate in a seven‑day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
