Job Title: Community Care and Support Worker
Location: Hobart, AU
We are seeking a flexible Care & Support Worker to join our team on a Casual basis. In this dynamic and multi-faceted role, you will be working across our community care program based in and around Hobart and the South Tasmanian Region assisting our clients in their homes.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing personal care, medication assistance, food preparation, community support, transport, and domestic support to our clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, a non-judgmental approach, and an understanding of the special needs of older people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: showering, oral care and continence management
* Medication Assistance: Administering and monitoring medications, assisting with dressings and basic observations
* Food Preparation: preparing, cooking and serving of meals
* Community Support: escorting our clients on community outings e.g. shopping trips, excursions, lunches, appointments
* Transport: escorting our clients to medical and allied health appointments, hospital visits and respite care
* Domestic Support: cleaning, tidying, changing bedding to ensure a safe, clean and sanitized environment for our client

Requirements:
* Completed or currently studying Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
* Medication endorsement is favourable, but not essential
* Prior experience in Aged or Community Care (preferred)
* Geographical understanding/willingness to travel and Excellent communication skills
* A non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds
* A caring approach and an understanding of the special needs of older people
* Current CPR & First Aid
