Position Overview:
We're currently in search of an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This opportunity is perfect for individuals with prior kitchen experience who are eager to enhance their skills in a professional culinary setting. Ideal for those looking to secure some casual hours in the kitchen, please note that hours are not guaranteed initially but may hopefully increase in the future. As an Experienced Kitchen Assistant, you'll be instrumental in assisting our chefs and kitchen staff with a range of duties, including dishwashing, food preparation, and even some cooking tasks.
Responsibilities:
Utilise your experience to efficiently wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Assist our chefs with food preparation tasks, drawing on your previous experience to handle chopping, slicing, and other culinary duties effectively.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service, taking on tasks as needed to support the flow of the kitchen.
Demonstrate your culinary skills by assisting with some cooking responsibilities under the guidance of our experienced chefs.
Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a safe and clean work environment at all times.
Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and actively contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the kitchen operations.
Requirements:
Proven experience working in a kitchen environment, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and procedures.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced culinary setting.
Excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A passion for food and a desire to continue learning and growing in the culinary field.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the restaurant industry. Must be available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
