About The Team
Located in the Planning and Regulation Department, the City Planning Branch is responsible for long term planning and policy development to manage growth and development of our city while protecting and conserving our natural resources and heritage. Strategic Urban and Regional Planning is responsible for developing and reviewing land use and urban design planning policy important to managing the growth of the Gold Coast, providing regional planning advice, and planning assumptions (including population and dwellings numbers).
About Your New Role
The Strategic Infrastructure team within the City Planning Branch is seeking an Infrastructure Planning Lead. This position is responsible for assisting with the delivery of Local Government Infrastructure Plan review and amendments as well as various associated projects. In this role, you will provide advice on a variety of projects that support the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Program.
Candidates will learn more about local government infrastructure planning and the processes, policies and legislation associated with the planning and delivery of trunk infrastructure across our city.
Roles And Responsibilities For This Position Include
* Undertake research, draft policy, financial analysis and stakeholder engagement in relation to Principal Land Use and Infrastructure Planning
* Prepare and present reports to committees and management of project milestones and related project documents.
* Review and amend the Local Government Infrastructure Plan
* Prepare an infrastructure charging and offset plan
* Provide strategic infrastructure policy for upcoming planning initiatives
* Assist with the delivery of the LGIP program in compliance with the mandatory process.
* Assist with preparation and improvement work for future LGIP amendments.
* Provide stakeholder input and infrastructure planning advice for special projects.
* Coordinate and facilitate outcomes whilst engaging and balancing multiple infrastructure networks and stakeholder interests.
* Professional report writing and delivery of presentations.
* Assist with governance and upkeep of supporting business registers.
Flexible Part time hours will also be considered if requested by the successful candidate
We're Looking For People Who
* Have experience or knowledge in Urban and Regional Planning, Infrastructure Planning or Civil Engineering knowledge
* Are a strategic thinker with skills and experience in infrastructure planning and/or land use planning.
* Are passionate about working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team.
* Have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, consultation and presentation skills.
* Are able to deliver high-quality services to customers (internal and external) and understand/respond to customer expectations appropriately.
* Are proficient in stakeholder management, project management, research, analytics and problem-solving.
* Can research, analyse and investigate, sourcing appropriate information and identifying workable solutions.
