Sous Chef | Kensington Tavern
The Kensington Tavern is seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. Supporting the Head Chef in our high‐volume bistro, you will be responsible for maintaining premium pub standards and leading a fast‐paced line during peak service.
About the Role
We are looking for a trade‐qualified professional with a hands‐on approach and full availability across a 7‐day roster, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays. If you are passionate about consistent quality, have proven experience in a busy kitchen and are ready for a long‐term role in a thriving local venue, we want to hear from you.
A Day in the Life
* You'll be a key part of the leadership team, supporting the Head Chef to ensure every service is flawless.
* Take charge of shifts, mentor the team, and keep kitchen standards razor‐sharp.
* Inspire your crew with your expertise and a can‐do attitude, ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen is a work of art.
Requirements
* This is a hands‐on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g., moving stock, kegs, deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
* You have solid experience as a Sous Chef in a high‐volume pub or similar setting.
* Your cooking credentials and food safety certifications are up‐to‐date.
* You're a natural‐born leader who commands respect with your skills and cool‐headed approach.
* You have a serious love for creating delicious food that keeps people coming back for more.
