Description:
St Patrick's Primary School, Cessnock is seeking a Permanent Part Time (11 hours per week) Learning Support Assistant to join the team each Monday and Wednesday.

Role of the Learning Support Assistant:
In a Catholic school, the Learning Support Assistant plays a unique role in supporting teachers to ensure each child has opportunities to grow academically and spiritually, and live a purposeful life.
Duties:
* Support teachers in inviting students and their families into a faith-filled educational experience
* Promote the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured, and students are connected with their world through deep learning and engagement
* Under the direction of teachers, provide support and assistance in school routines, classroom activities, and the care and support of students with disability
Skills and Experience:
We are looking for someone with experience working with students with disability, who can work under the direction of a teacher and collaborate with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Current paid NSW Working with Children Check number
* Completion of anaphylaxis training
* Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support or experience in schools (desirable)
* Experience implementing intervention programs such as MiniLit Sage (desirable)
Conditions of Employment:
The salary is in accordance with the New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
