We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Fitters to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment
* Scheduling and completing the company's 'Preventative Maintenance Program'
* Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
* Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
* Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
* Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machines.
* Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerance using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal.
* Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
* Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauls and repairs of mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
* May erect machines and equipment on‐site.
* Attending daily maintenance situations and breakdowns.
* Attending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talks.
Skills & Experiences
* Trade Certificates - Engine Reconditioning/Fitter & Turner/Machinist and/or other related industry qualification
* Strong experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
* Be punctual and reliable, self‐motivated, problem solver & team player
* Strong interpersonal & communication skills
* Basic computer literacy
* Must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre‐employment medical if required.
* Have already had a Q Fever vaccination or be willing to participate in the vaccination process.
