For suitable candidates, there is potential for this position to evolve into a leadership role within the team.Key duties:Installation: Setting up new signalling systems or upgrading existing ones according to specifications and safety standards.Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, testing, and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper functioning of signalling equipment.Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing faults or malfunctions in signalling equipment and implementing appropriate repairs or adjustments to restore functionality.Testing and Commissioning: Conducting thorough testing of signalling systems to ensure reliability and adherence to safety regulations before putting them into service. This includes commissioning new installations and verifying their performance.Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and testing results to track the history and performance of signalling equipment.Collaboration: Working closely with other railway personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and operators, to coordinate signalling activities and ensure the safe and efficient movement of trains.QualificationsTo perform the duties of a Signalling Technician, it is mandatory to possess the following certificates and licenses:Certificate IV in Electrical (Rail Signalling)Electrical LicenseWhite CardIn addition, you will ideally also have:Experience as a Signalling TechnicianRIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Identification)C-class driver’s licenceStrong communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to use initiativeWe will also be evaluating candidates who already possess a Certificate III in Electrical (Railway Signalling) and who are open to acquiring, or are currently pursuing their Certificate IV in railway signalling.Additional InformationEgis is committed to creating an inclusive, creative culture that embraces diversity and flexibility.
