Overview

TAFE Gippsland is seeking a dedicated Senior Secondary Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Senior Secondary Programs. This leadership role has accountability for managing the teaching and support staff, including responsibilities such as staff supervision, induction, timetabling, development of work plans, and performance management. Reporting to the Principal Secondary Programs, the Senior Secondary Coordinator is responsible for driving continuous improvements to ensure training is of the highest quality and student attendance, retention and achievement are maximised.

The Senior Secondary Coordinator is responsible for the current course offerings, including delivery of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) online, VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and additional programs identified as suitable for delivery to young people. As a Vocational Educational Leader, a Senior Secondary Coordinator introduces contemporary and innovative approaches to teaching and assessment, including blended learning choices, the introduction of digital technologies and the use of team-oriented approaches to improve learning outcomes. The Senior Secondary Coordinator quickly grasps concepts and ways of working to empower educators to create collaborative, inclusive learning environments. Travel across Campuses will be required. A six-month probation period applies to this position.

Your Experience and Qualifications

You will hold an approved teaching qualification and possess a current VIT Registration. You will have specialist knowledge and experience in Senior Secondary Programs, particularly in the area of applied learning and demonstrated experience working in Secondary Schools. You can advise, interpret and translate relevant framework and regulation requirements. You have specialist knowledge and skills in the development and coordination of applied learning programs, resources and curriculum.

You bring proven experience in leading, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing professional teams, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you have a strong track record of building and maintaining effective partnerships with community and industry stakeholders.

All TAFE Gippsland staff are required to carry a current Drivers Licence, employee Working with Children Clearance and satisfactory National Police Check (covered by a VITR).
