The Opportunity
This is a newly established permanent position supporting the State Government's Electric Vehicle (EV) Transition mandate.
The Fleet Management and EV Officer plays a key role in advancing fleet sustainability and emissions reduction by contributing to EV eligibility assessments, policy development, stakeholder coordination and operational rollout across the Transport Portfolio.
The role requires high‐level written and verbal communication skills, as you will be responsible for developing clear policy documentation, providing guidance to custodians and stakeholders, and preparing advice and reports that support informed decision‐making.
About You
You are an organised and analytical professional with experience working in a large, complex fleet management environment. You bring a strong understanding of fleet operations and sustainability considerations, combined with the ability to apply policy and procedural frameworks in a practical, operational setting.
You have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to prepare clear, accurate and well‐structured documentation, guidance material and advice. You are confident liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and can communicate complex or technical information in a way that supports informed decision‐making.
You work well both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing tasks to meet agreed timeframes. You are comfortable working in an evolving environment and contribute positively to continuous improvement, collaboration and whole‐of‐portfolio outcomes.
A current national police clearance (including criminal and traffic convictions and infringements) is required for this position.
