Job Description
As the Newsletter Editor, you will spearhead the strategy and delivery of nine.com.au's editorial newsletters, blending high-level curation with data-driven innovation. Working in collaboration with senior editors, you will evolve our digital footprint, ensuring our stories reach the right audience with precision and impact. This is a pivotal role for a strategic thinker ready to shape the future of our off-platform engagement.
Day To Day You Will
* Collaborate with section editors to design and execute a high-impact newsletter strategy.
* Supervise daily production, including the curation, writing, and editing of newsletters, as required.
* Maintain editorial excellence by proofreading for tone, format, and style guide adherence.
* Attend news conferences and other meetings with senior editors to plan and align coverage with breaking priorities.
* Act as the central point of contact for editorial and cross-functional newsletter inquiries.
* Champion newsletter growth by educating and training newsroom staff on best practices.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in editorial newsletter delivery, strategy, or a similar editorial role.
* A sophisticated understanding of the Australian news landscape and current affairs.
* Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to drive subscriber engagement and growth.
* Exceptional organisational skills to manage complex workflows and tight daily deadlines.
* Strong editorial judgement with a firm grasp of media law, including defamation.
* Background in digital production, social media, or sub-editing (highly regarded).
* Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude for mentoring and training others.
