The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of SQL Server & Oracle here at Arc.
This role is accountable to deliver assigned projects and BAU tasks defined in the project pipeline in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.
Responsibilities
Monitor SQL Server and Oracle databases across IT and OT environments
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle server software and related tools
Evaluate MSSQL / Oracle features and MSSQL / Oracle related products
Assist with establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Implement and maintain database security according to company policy and procedure
Database tuning and performance monitoring
Script database deployments and migrations for applications team
Interface with MSSQL / Oracle vendors for technical support
Ensure effective access to data and information assets whilst maintaining the requirements of security, privacy and confidentiality
Participate in testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans to ensure that the business can continue to function in the event of exceptional scenarios
Maintain contemporary knowledge of system architectures and information systems appropriate to the organisation
Qualifications
Experience supporting mission critical database platforms
Experience in supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases
Ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices
Strong documentation and communication skills required
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and customers
Experience configuring high availability database environments
