Role & Responsibilities
As an NDIS Support Worker with a nursing background, you will:
* Provide personal care and complex care support, including manual handling and continence care
* Support participants with clinical and health-related needs in line with care plans
* Assist with medication administration, monitoring, and documentation (as applicable to qualification and scope)
* Observe, monitor, and report changes in participants' physical or mental health
* Implement and follow individualised support and behaviour support plans
* Assist with meal preparation, mobility support, and light household tasks
* Encourage community participation, social engagement, and skill development
* Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reporting
* Foster a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for participants
* Work collaboratively with internal teams, families, and allied health professionals
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Nursing qualification (one of the following):
* Registered Nurse (RN)
* Enrolled Nurse (EN)
* Assistant in Nursing (AIN) / Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
* Current AHPRA registration (for RN/EN roles)
* Experience providing clinical or personal care support (NDIS, aged care, community, or hospital setting)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
* Current First Aid & CPR Certification
* National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months)
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Reliable vehicle with comprehensive or third-party property damage insurance
Desirable:
* Experience supporting participants with complex needs or high physical support
* Knowledge of NDIS practice standards and documentation
