The Role
As an Accessibility Student Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping students with disabilities, medical conditions, and other accessibility challenges succeed in their university experience. This position involves providing essential support through any of our four service streams, including note-taking to ensure students have reliable study materials, editing transcripts produced by automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems for accuracy, physically assisting in hands-on learning lab environments and mentoring students to empower their personal and academic growth.
What you'll bring to this role- Completion of Year 12 or certificate 2 with demonstrated combination of relevant work experience and/ or education/training.- Organisational, attention to detail and time management skills.- High levels of written and oral communication skills in English.- Ability to work professionally and collegially as part of a team.- A commitment to accessibility and inclusion, driven by a passion to improve conditions for students.
