What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the role is to develop appropriate knowledge and technical skills to fulfil the requirements of the RCPA for training in Microbiology and to become a competent Microbiologist; and to fulfil the service requirements of the department, including contributing to the provision of advice to clinicians regarding test selection, review and verification of laboratory results, notification and discussion of results with clinicians, attendance and participation in meetings and conducting research.
Selection Criteria
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
* Evidence of general registration and 24 months of clinical experience OR hold a Specialist International Medical Graduate determination issued by the RCPA.
* Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary team environment, including improvement in patient care and an understanding of he NSW Health Code of Conduct.
* Evidence of satisfactory participation in quality improvement initiatives relevant to Microbiology
* Evidence of vocational interest in Microbiology (e.g. employment, previous training or research in Microbiology or related field).
