CatholicCare Tasmania is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Safety and Risk to join our senior leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and leading our organisation-wide approach to safety, risk, and governance—ensuring the wellbeing of our people and the integrity of our operations.
As the Head of Safety and Risk, you will provide strategic oversight and operational leadership across Work Health and Safety (WHS), organisational risk, governance, and business continuity. You will champion a proactive risk culture, ensure compliance with legislative and accreditation standards, and support the CEO and Board with expert insights and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of integrated frameworks for WHS, risk, and business continuity.
* Maintain and manage the corporate Risk Register and incident reporting systems.
* Provide expert advice and reporting to the CEO, Board, and Sub-Committees.
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
* Oversee governance, policy development, and accreditation processes.
* Lead and develop a high-performing Safety and Risk personal.
What you will bring
* Proven experience in a senior safety, risk, or governance role.
* Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and compliance standards.
* Strong leadership and ability to target language to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders
* Strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
* A collaborative mindset and a passion for building a culture of safety and accountability.
