Airservices Australia is a government-owned organisation responsible for managing 11% of the world’s airspace. Aviation Rescue Fire Fighters (ARFFs) provide safety services at 27 of Australia’s busiest airports and are ready to respond 24/7 to aircraft incidents, fires, and other airport emergencies. With industry-leading training and state-of-the-art equipment, we play a vital role in ensuring the safe travel of passengers, airline crews, and airport staff.
The Opportunity
As an Aviation Rescue Fire Fighter, you will be stationed at one of our 27 airport fire stations dedicated to aerodrome emergencies. Responsibilities include responding to aircraft incidents, maintaining trucks and the fire station, providing first aid, offering fire safety advice, and being prepared for any emergency. This role requires strong physical and mental abilities to handle diverse challenges.
What You Need
Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
Completed Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (Year 10/12).
Current, unrestricted driver’s license (with the ability to obtain a heavy rigid license).
Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or HTLAID014) at time of commencement on Recruit Course.
Physically and mentally fit (must pass a physical aptitude test which includes a beep test with a pass score of 9.1 and aviation medical assessment).
Ability to work well in a team, think quickly under pressure, and make logical decisions in critical situations.

Western Sydney, Launceston, Hobart, Gladstone, Karratha, Port Hedland, Broome, Whitsunday Coast, Mackay, Hamilton Island, Alice Springs, Avalon.
