About Laka Civil
Laka Civil is a South Australian civil contractor delivering subdivision, infrastructure, earthworks and bulk civil projects across metropolitan and regional SA.
We are looking for an experienced Civil Site Supervisor who knows how to run a job properly. Someone who can lead crews, coordinate plant and subcontractors, keep works moving, and take real ownership of what is happening onsite.
This is a hands-on role for a practical supervisor who leads from the front, communicates well with crews, and takes pride in delivering safe, productive and well-run sites.
You will be joining a delivery-focused business with strong operational support, well-maintained plant and equipment, and a solid pipeline of civil work across South Australia.
About the Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager, project teams and support staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of civil works across active projects.
You will need to be confident managing labour, operators, subcontractors, materials, site sequencing and changing priorities while maintaining control of safety, quality and productivity.
This role will suit someone who is organised, switched on, and capable of driving outcomes onsite without unnecessary fuss.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise day-to-day site operations across subdivision, infrastructure, earthworks and bulk civil projects
* Coordinate crews, plant, subcontractors and materials onsite
* Plan and sequence works to maintain program and productivity
* Lead daily pre-starts and maintain strong communication across site teams
* Monitor site progress, workmanship and resource allocation
* Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard
* Maintain compliance with WHS, environmental and project requirements
* Liaise with project engineers and management to keep site delivery on track
* Identify and resolve onsite issues proactively
* Maintain accurate site records, reporting and documentation
About You
You are likely already supervising civil crews onsite and understand what it takes to keep a project moving. You know how to coordinate people, plant and subcontractors, solve problems early, and maintain strong standards across safety, quality and productivity.
You will ideally bring:
* Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within civil construction
* Strong knowledge of subdivision, earthworks, infrastructure or bulk civil works
* Ability to lead crews, operators and subcontractors effectively
* Strong understanding of safe work practices and site compliance requirements
* Ability to read and interpret plans and project documentation
* Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills
* Strong focus on productivity, quality and workmanship
* Construction White Card
* Relevant licences and tickets highly regarded
* Willingness to work across varying SA project locations
