Approvals Advisor – Studies & ProgramsWe are assisting oour Tier One Mining Client in their search for an Approvals Advisor to work in their Studies and Programs Team.
Role Purpose
The Approvals Advisor is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and managing project Approval Requests (ARs) across the Studies & Programs portfolio. The role provides early issue identification, approvals guidance, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects progress safely, compliantly, and on schedule. The Advisor plays a key role in supporting responsible disturbance, efficient approvals pathways, and delivery of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Screening: Streamline approval pathways and optimise use of existing approvals.
* Approval Request Facilitation: Prepare, coordinate, and submit high‑quality project approval and survey requests.
* Site Audits: Conduct environmental and heritage compliance audits during field activities.
* Disturbance Polygons: Create accurate disturbance polygons using ArcGIS.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Lead approvals coordination meetings, maintain communication cadences, and manage information responses.
* Approval Scheduling: Provide accurate inputs to project approval schedules and support prioritisation discussions with key stakeholders.
* Progress Reporting: Deliver clear and timely progress updates to Project Leads, Program & Study Leads, and internal stakeholders.
* Approval Adaptation: Manage updates or changes to approval requirements as project needs evolve.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and support efficiency initiatives across Studies & Programs approvals.
Capabilities & Experience
* Technical Proficiency: GIS (ArcGIS), Microsoft Office, and familiarity with approvals systems and dashboards.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of environmental, heritage, and legislative requirements relevant to project disturbance.
* Communication & Engagement: Strong ability to build relationships across Project Leads, Study Leads, Heritage, Environment, and external consultation groups.
* Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret project data, approval requirements, and risk factors.
* Reporting & Documentation: Skilled in preparing clear, accurate reports, polygons, and approval content.
* Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify issues early and recommend practical, compliant solutions.
* Cultural Competency: Ability to engage respectfully with Traditional Owners during field consultations.
* Attention to Detail: High accuracy in submissions, schedules, polygons, and audit documentation.
