Gisborne Secondary College is a large, stand alone, Year 7-12 College with an enrolment of just over 1000 students. Our large catchment area covers the Macedon Ranges, north-west of Melbourne. Over 70% of our students travel to school by bus and the College is an important social focal point for students from different towns of the region.
Our school has an incredibly strong pathways and transition program, supporting close to 70 VCE units of study each year, over 50 School-based Apprenticeship and Traineeships, and numerous VET programs. A comprehensive VCAL program operates, with excellent outcomes for the students involved.
We have also established an excellent reputation in the Performing Arts, a program supported by our superb Performing Arts Centre.

**Selection Criteria**:
SC2 Demonstrated high quality instructional skills in situations ranging from ensemble rehearsals to single lessons at beginning and advanced levels
SC3 Aptitude for working in a secondary school setting
SC4 Demonstrate high level communication skills and professional behaviour when interacting with parents or guardians, students and colleagues

**Role**:
Instruction of instrumental music (Guitar/Voice) to individual students or in small groups.
Work in a team situation with other members of the Performing Arts department.
Some additional hours may be required for rehearsals and performances of School Productions.
Manage the use of and access to school resource and reference material.
Provide feedback on student¿s progress.
**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of this position will be:
- To tutor and support small groups or individual students involved in the Instrumental Music Program according to curriculum.
- Maintain accurate student attendance rolls and prepare timetables in collaboration with the Instrumental Music Coordinator.
- Maintain records of progressive assessment and submit bi-annual reports.
- Communicate with parents/carers as required.
- Working in collaboration with other instrumental staff to assist with ensembles, showcases and productions.
- Provide instruction for students to prepare for external assessments and performances in collaboration with Instrumental Music Coordinator.
Additional attendance may be required for rehearsals and performances of School Productions outside of school hours
