About the role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is proud to present its dedicated Outdoor Education campus, the Marrapatta Memorial Outdoor Education Centre, located in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, just two hours north of Brisbane. Marrapatta provides an immersive environment for engaging educational experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting.
The School invites applications for a full-time Outdoor Education teacher to join the committed team at the Marrapatta campus. If you have a passion for inspiring students through dynamic outdoor learning experiences, we encourage you to apply.
As an Outdoor Education Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading and inspiring students in the delivery of the Outdoor Education Program
* Supporting personal growth and residential care of students, including overseeing overnight stays and camps
* Supervising and guiding students, both individually and in groups, during outdoor activities such as canoeing, bushwalking, mountain biking, and challenge ropes courses
* Following procedures to ensure student health and wellbeing, promoting positive relationships, and providing first aid (including medication and allergy management)
* Participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme
* Assisting in the planning, administration, resource production, and preparation of all activities.

You will also have:
* Current Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility to apply)
* Comprehensive understanding of outdoor pedagogies and expertise in the delivery of an Outdoor Education Program
* Relevant instructional certificates in a range of outdoor pursuits, including canoeing, bushwalking, mountain biking and challenge ropes courses
* Ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a high-performing school culture
* Experience in driving a four-wheel drive vehicle off-road
* Wilderness First Aid qualification
* Manual Driver's License.
