Specialised Tyres & Wheel – Forrestdale WA

Responsibilities
* Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
* Set up components for welding and joining according to specifications.
* Operate tools to prepare the parts for assembly.
* Machine parts and components to be used to assemble final products.
* Align components using callipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces.
* Weld components using manual or semi‐automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical or horizontal).
* Test and inspect welded surfaces, structures, and components to discover flaws.
* Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
* Other duties related to skills and capabilities as required.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 1-2 years of metalwork experience.
* Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers, etc.).
* Experience using large machinery such as lathes and mills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
* Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.).
* Proven deftness and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated problem‐solving skills.
Qualifications
* Completion of year 10 WACE or equivalent.
* Successful completion of a VET program or an apprenticeship is highly desirable.
* Professional certification is a plus.
* Experience using various welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.).
Additional Skills
* Ability to work under limited supervision, individually or in a team environment.
* Autonomous and solves work planning problems.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Team player.
