Assistant Director, Program Design and Development
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency
Details: Applications are invited from experienced leaders with demonstrated capability in training program design and development, project management and governance to join ACT Corrective Services as the Assistant Director, Program Design and Development.
The Assistant Director, Program Design and Development leads the design, development and quality assurance of accredited and non‐accredited training programs across ACT Corrective Services. The role provides leadership and supervision of complex training development projects, ensuring programs are delivered on time, are fit‐for‐purpose and comply with legislative, policy and industry standards.
The position manages and prioritises multiple projects, supervises a small team, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to translate operational needs into effective learning solutions delivered in a range of formats. The role also contributes to governance, policy and framework development to support high‐quality, contemporary training practice across ACT Corrective Services.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
* A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or the Diploma in Training Design and Development would be advantageous.
* Experience working in the Justice, Emergency Services, Law Enforcement or similar industry would be advantageous.
* The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Police check.
* This position requires a pre‐employment medical.
* To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa. If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 30 May 2026 until 15 July 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
