We're on the lookout for a Lead Barista – a pivotal role in shaping both our coffee program and our team culture.
As Lead Barista, you'll take responsibility for guiding and mentoring our barista team, ensuring consistency and excellence in every product. Beyond maintaining the highest standards of quality, you will champion training, oversee workflow and stock management, and foster a culture of hospitality that makes every guest feel welcome.
We're looking for someone with both technical mastery and a leadership heart; a person who inspires confidence, elevates those around them, and takes pride in delivering coffee at its very best.
This is a permanent full time position.

Role purpose:
Lead Barista
Role Description:
* Execute and maintain the quality of all beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
* Ensure the smooth running of daily coffee bar operations.
* Liaise with the Café Manager to improve, innovate, and update the coffee menu.
* Provide confident, comprehensive barista service and excellent customer service.
* Educate customers by presenting and explaining the beverage menu.
* Oversee inventory by replenishing coffee supplies, restocking brewing equipment, and maintaining and ordering stock.
* Display exceptional leadership by creating a positive work environment and maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy workspace in line with OH&S regulations, organizational standards, and sanitation requirements.
* Train, develop, and motivate baristas to meet and exceed KPIs.
* Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
* Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implementing changes; and maintaining and enhancing the appearance of the coffee bar.
* Be available for any additional tasks and duties as directed by the Café Manager
Recommended skills, knowledge & experience:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
* Strong sensory skills for tasting, calibrating, and quality control
* Mastery of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and brewing methods
* Excellent and warm hospitality and customer service
* Advanced leadership in training, mentoring, and growing a team
* Ability to manage ordering, rosters, and café operations
* Precision in workflow, prep, and stock management
