The Company
An innovative Australian owned business who manage a renewable portfolio of over 3GWs. The portfolio is mainly wind and solar but will likely expand into storage and other new markets. The founding members and senior leadership team are extremely well networked and experienced in the Australian electricity market. The portfolio is under long term contractual agreements meaning the company is very secure and will continue to expand.
Location
The role can be carried out remotely and you will be able to work anywhere in Australia. The team will provide you with all the equipment required to carry out the role.
The Role
- Provide plant operation and spot market services for renewable generation assets
- Monitor systems and auto-bidding software’s
- Interface with AEMO
- Be first point of contact for NSP’s
- Handle emergency calls for plant personal and stakeholders
- Analyse data and be able to provide reports
- Monitor weather forecast systems
About You
- Good understanding of the NEM and wholesale electricity market
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years years experience in Australian energy market
- Spot trading experience or knowledge is nice to have but not essential
- Good understanding of recent rule and regulatory changes in the market
- Plant control or operations backgrounds will also be considered
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be an individual who wants to be challenged and further their career
- Willing to do shift work
- Be happy working from home
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in energy market
- Strong understanding of the NEM
- Good with IT systems
- Able to work alone
- Good with numbers
- SCADA and plant control systems would be beneficial – not essential
- Proficient in SQL would be beneficial
- Calm when under pressure
- Full working rights for Australia
